Members of the medical elite converged virtually on Saturday 9 October for our second Zoom-held Information Day. Covering the Marfan spectrum of heart, eyes and skeleton, Consultant Cardiac Surgeon Mr Ulrich Rosendahl, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon Mr Robert Henderson and Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr Hilali Noordeen each spoke on their specialty and took questions from the large audience. They were joined by Consultant Child Psychologist Dr Zoe Berger from Great Ormond Street Hospital, and Dr Anna-Maria Choy from Dundee University making for a very impressive line-up. Over 60 people attended our conference and the talks are now on sale for £5 each. To purchase these talks, please scroll down.
With every planned webinar comes room for improvisation. A couple of delays meant informal and indelible contributions from Dr Nitha Naqvi and Mr Tal Golesworthy. Dr Naqvi spoke of the vaccine whilst Mr Golesworthy, a Chartered Research & Development Engineer and Pioneer of PEARS (personalised external aortic root support) discussed his invention here. Tal has helped over 500 people with a cardiovascular implantable device to fit around enlarged aortas to halt dilation and preclude dissection.:
