After much extensive research and many patient interviews, Rosalie Magboo will present the results of her PhD study on the Psychosocial Effects of a Diagnosis of Aorto-Vascular Manifestations in Marfan Syndrome.
The Marfan Trust is proudly collaborating with the Aortic Dissection Awareness UK & Ireland in hosting this webinar and disseminating the results.
Rosalie Magboo is an award-winning cardiovascular nurse at St Bartholomew's Hospital. She received a Barts Charity Healthcare Professional Clinical Research Training Fellowship in 2021 to study the under-explored health-related quality of life and psychosocial aspects of living with Marfan syndrome, before and after heart surgery.
Many people with Marfan syndrome develop heart abnormalities, requiring lifelong monitoring and, usually, at least one major surgery. Rosalie’s research will help design ways for patients with this condition to improve their mental health and quality of life, before and after heart surgery.
Rosalie recruited around 120 patients to join her study. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.
This webinar is a unique opportunity to hear first-hand from Rosalie the results of her research and to ask direct questions of any complexity.
